Funding for Medical Transport Providers
Recognizing the critical, life-saving role that medical transport providers play in serving their communities, Emergency Trauma Fund (ETF) has expanded its funding program to include both air and ground medical transport services.
ETF is designed specifically to assist with uncompensated care for uninsured and underinsured patients who receive emergency room, trauma and transport services. Applications are now being accepted from eligible EMS and medical transport providers.
To help offset the substantial financial losses incurred from unreimbursed services provided to the community, claims may be submitted for review and reimbursement for up to three years from the date of service. Providers must demonstrate that reasonable and diligent efforts have been made to collect payment from all available sources prior to submitting a claim.
Eligible services for reimbursement include:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 1
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) Level 2
- Transport-related incidents associated with ICD-10 codes V00-V99 (Transport Accidents)
Upon approval, reimbursement funding will be issued within 15 business days.
